On July 14th the biggest Jr. Sprint race of the year will hit the Highbanks of SIR. The 4th Annual Warner Truck and Equipment Gage Besing Memorial will boast the highest Jr. Sprint purse of the year! Paying $750 to win and $50 to start, as well as boasting a total purse of $3,200, we hope to bring in Jr. Sprint racers from across different areas of the country to honor a great young man's life. Gage Besing passed away on December 26th, 2014 from complications of Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma, a form of pediatric cancer. Before his passing, SIR had Gage down to the race track, and with the help of our racers and fans, showed him a VIP racing experience. Jason Rix made him a special trophy themed like his favorite superhero, Captain America. Additionally, our racers went to the infield and took a picture with him. This event will be a ton of fun for our Jr. Sprint racers in addition to supporting a young man here in the Marion area that is taking on his own battle with cancer, Hunter Dunn! We will be having a full night of weekly points racing with all 6 other classes at SIR with regular payouts.
