The future of micro sprint racing will be on showcase this weekend as the cars and stars of the SEMO Services JR Sprint class take to the track for the $750 to win Gage Besing Memorial.
Trevor Hertter has been on a tear lately with the wings on and looks to be the local favorite coming into the weekend, followed closely by Lane Warner and Cale Goodwin. They'll look to hold their ground as several of the nation's best JR drivers descend upon Southern Illinois Raceway.
Eric Gentry and Ryan Timms look to be a couple of stout competitors coming in to steal the show, as well as several from the Sweet Springs, MO area!
Our guest of the night will be Miss Makanda Williams of Ewing, IL. She is battling Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Giloma, a rare brain tumor and the same that Gage battled, and is currently undergoing treatments. We're calling on all of our GREAT racers, friends and fans to help Makanda and her parents as they battle. We'll be doing our part as a track and Donating $1 for every front gate ticket sold as well as making an additioanl donation to Makanda and her parents when we pass helmets through the grandstand during intermission!
To make the night even more special, we're hosting our first ever KIDS KLUB Night! We'll have treat bags to give away to the kids, a candy drop, face painting available, t-shirts and beads to toss out for the kids, an AUTOGRAPH SESSION between hotlaps and heat races, four, 4!, bicycles to give away courtesy of Chris Beasley, Chris Cobin, Gary Pearson and SIR! and a cool trophy for some lucky kid to take home as well!
Come join us to celebrate a young man's life and to give back to another family in need!
